Washington, D.C., September 24, 2025 — Appearing on Newsmax2, John Thomas, Managing Director at Nestpoint, offered sharp commentary on the fallout surrounding late-night host Jimmy Kimmel’s recent controversy and broader issues of political rhetoric and media accountability.
Thomas pointed out that Kimmel’s cancellation was less about free speech and more a consequence of collapsing relevance. “Jimmy Kimmel is a victim of low ratings. Most micro-influencers have bigger audiences per post than Kimmel had in prime time,” he said. Thomas argued that Kimmel’s remorse was motivated less by genuine reflection than by regret over losing his platform.
Turning to California Governor Gavin Newsom’s rhetoric on late-night shows, Thomas warned that exaggerated narratives risk misleading younger audiences. “Nobody’s stealing the election. Donald Trump isn’t Hitler. But viewers of Colbert or Kimmel might be enthralled by Gavin’s lies and hyperbolic rhetoric—and that needs to stop,” he stressed, noting that such messaging can dangerously influence impressionable audiences under 30.
Thomas also addressed the growing revelations about government pressure on Big Tech during the Biden administration. Google admitted to removing politically sensitive content under White House pressure, raising serious First Amendment concerns. “I don’t trust big tech as far as I can throw them. They were complicit and happy to be so,” Thomas said. “Joe Biden and the Democrats want to cancel conservatives. They’ve debanked us. They’ve stripped our ability to speak. And this is their MO. It’s disgusting. I’m glad some sunlight is being shined on it, but I still don’t trust them one iota.”
Through his commentary, Thomas underscored Nestpoint’s commitment to strategic clarity in the face of political noise, calling out deflection and double standards in both media and government. His remarks highlight Nestpoint’s positioning at the intersection of public affairs, policy influence, and media strategy.
