From Trump's South Carolina Rally, Nestpoint's Tim Phillips Talks Key Senate Races on Fox

Washington, D.C., October 29, 2026 — Nestpoint's Director of Global and Government Affairs Tim Phillips joined LiveNOW from FOX on the ground at President Donald Trump's campaign rally in Rock Hill, South Carolina, to discuss the competitive Senate races shaping the final days of the midterm elections. Drawing on recent visits to Kansas, Iowa, and Nebraska, Phillips identified Kansas as the race posing the greatest risk to Republicans among the three states, despite its longstanding Republican voting history.
Phillips noted that Republican Senator Roger Marshall is facing a more difficult re-election campaign than anticipated, while neighboring campaigns in Iowa and Nebraska appeared better prepared for a competitive election cycle.
“I think Kansas is the most in danger,” Phillips said, pointing to the unexpectedly close contest and the challenging national political environment.
He also highlighted the importance of economic issues in Kansas, particularly for agricultural communities where transportation and operating costs are closely tied to fuel prices.
Beyond economic concerns, Phillips pointed to the Democratic challenger's ability to connect with Kansas voters, drawing on his years of experience as a megachurch pastor. He contrasted that challenge with the campaign of Republican Ashley Hinson in Iowa, which he believes entered the election cycle better prepared for a difficult contest.
Speaking from South Carolina during Trump's campaign visit, Phillips also assessed the state's closely contested Senate race. While acknowledging that the race is closer than Republicans would prefer, he remained optimistic about the party's chances, emphasizing the importance of mobilizing voters who do not consistently participate in elections.
“This is a turnout election,” Phillips said, arguing that Trump's presence could help encourage those supporters to cast their ballots in the final days.
While Phillips expressed confidence in Republican prospects in South Carolina and Iowa, he maintained a more cautious outlook on Kansas, where he believes the outcome remains uncertain.
